Hola Mis Amigos!

3 Mar

Hey there friends! How is everyone’s Saturday going? Things are going well here at Casa de Krebs I am pleased to report. Today the girls had their first swim lesson through our city Rec Center and absolutely loved it. AJ is pretty fearless when it comes to trying new things and Gabby just has fun in the water in general.

This week we went to the zoo, made jewelry, had a blast making messes at the co-op we belong to, ate the yummiest meal ever, colored, crafted, played, read, and so much more. Gabby wants to start a cat sitting service and we made a visit to the local animal shelter to drop off a cat condo and visit with the dogs and cats waiting for homes. If I wasn’t married I would definitely be a crazy cat lady… thank goodness Gabby has serious allergies to keep me in check, lol. (She is used to our pets so they aren’t a problem but on a scale of 0-5 she is a +4 for cat and dog allergies)

Our week was full of a lot of great activities and I know more fun is in store for my rowdy crew!

Here are some pics to enjoy:

I am getting ready for some fun St. Patrick’s Day and Dr. Seuss crafts so check back in the next few days for some awesome roundups! Cheers and have a great weekend!

Weekend Wishes

24 Feb

Well, my entire week was shot due to my being sick, I am lucky that I had enough energy to get dressed and put some deodorant on… I am still not 100% better but I am no longer a puddle of misery on the couch. =) I am keeping my weekend wishes pretty basic because let’s face it- when mom is sick the house goes to the kids! I got some major cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping to do! But sprinkled in there are some fun goals of my own:

to make some of these lovelies…. sunshine on a stick!

make some fun Dr. Seuss shirts, read The Lorax, and eat green eggs

go to Target and ONLY get what is on the list!

watch some chick flicks and catch up on my painting and Etsy store stuff

Find me some yummy Pyrex!

make some of my own cleaners and laundry soap

And that is about it for me. Rest, plan for some upcoming projects, teach dance, blog…

what’s in store for your weekend??

Book Review: The Repurposed Library

18 Dec

I saw this little gem in Anthropologie a month or two ago and knew that it had to be mine! It combines my two favorite things- books and crafts. There are some really lovely craft ideas in here to decorate your home and give as gifts to other bibliophiliacs. With more and more people switching over to e-readers like the Kindle or Nook lovely vintage books are finding their way into consignment stores, half price book stores, and GoodWill. What to do with all these beauties? Bring them back to life by turning them into something new!

The Repurposed Library has 33 projects that range from quick and easy to kind of complicated. Although there are not photo directions but hand drawn ones, if you are somewhat crafty you should be ok. Once in awhile I had to go look at the end photo to see where the directions were heading. I really enjoyed the way that the directions were laid out, in a clear manner with materials listed and then numbered directions. The author gives really good tips and tricks on how to get the book block out without damaging the spine and how to repair a book.

My favorite projects are the book wreath, the bookmobile, and this sewing box:

This is definitely something that I could use and seems easy enough to do. There are so many projects in this book that even kids would do and ways to take beautiful books and turn them into art. All in all, I think that The Repurposed Library would be a great addition to any craft room!!

{Right Now}

1 Dec

Right now I am….

{reading} The Hunger Games… what great books! I was up until almost 2 in the morning reading the first one!

{eating} Goldfish Cocoa Adventures crackers- They are addicting, especially with a tall glass of milk.

{listening} to Pandora’s Sesame street station. Moira is in looooooove with Grover, Cookie Monster, and Elmo

{making} some scarves for good friends, in some beautiful chunky roving. Eternity scarves are my new favorite and bestest.

{feeling} relieved that my recent crazy schedule is over with. I love selling books but hate being away from the girls, especially Moira.

{watching} AJ complete a sticker book, Moira patter around on every more confidant legs, and Gabby read a new book (with her tongue sticking out of her mouth

{knowing} that in a blink of an eye this scene will look very different and these girls of mine will be grown up

{thinking} about all the yummy Christmas cookies I want to make, like these and these!

{dancing} to this song…. it is a beautiful rendition of my favorite Christmas carol

{wearing} my comfiest torn jeans, glasses, and a simple long sleeve tee… a comfortable outfit before the dance clothes are back on

{hoping} that I can get everything together for Moira’s party, Christmas, and our 8 yr anniversary… two of which are in a week!

{learning} how to use the Sock Loom that Klint bought me as an early anniversary gift! I am so excited to make my own socks =)

{wishing} that there were more hours in the day to make things, play with the girls, dance, and just enjoy life.

{loving} all the Elf on the Shelf ideas on Pinterest… like the elf donuts shown above! (They are really Cherrios!!)

Happy Thursday!
