Somewhere Over the Rainbow

15 Mar

74.365Aren’t these adorable?

They are oh so colorful and yummy! Thank you Pinterest for yet another fun project to do involving loads of sugar and food coloring, lol.

I wanted to try the Unicorn Poop cookies but didn’t have edible glitter or sprinkles so these were next on the list.

I have to admit I am a huge fan of this sugar cookie recipe. Yummo!

The only thing I would change is that I would add more sugar as I prefer a sweeter taste to unfrosted cookies.

Here is the original post where I got the directions… try it, it is loads of fun making these!

Happy Little Things

1 Feb

happyI am sitting here typing, hands freezing, listening to the happy sounds of little girls frolicking upstairs. They have tried to go out and play in the snow but it is just too cold for their little fingers. So I entertained them with Brain Pop, You Tube, and Pinterest…. they loooooove Pinterest. Above are some pretty things that caught their eyes, especially that adorable kitten. Gabby wants to make arrows, Amelia wants that doll and to paint her nails. Moira is really into princesses so I am definitely checking this book out from the library along with a few others from this board.

I’ve really enjoyed my girls lately, taking more time to ignore the messes and pay more attention to the imagination. It is a struggle, especially when Moira decides that practicing scooping is way more fun with sugar than plain noodles. But then I catch moments like this and it is all worth it.

32This little girl…. she parties hard until midnight, has all these opinions, and has replaced the word “no” with “NO WAY!”. She tells me to go away, insists on watching movies while nursing, and follows her sisters around with big adoring eyes.

We have been enjoying our snowed in days, I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

A Year of Pinterest

28 Dec

It seems that life didn’t really exist before Pinterest. Looking through all my photos, many of them are of projects that I did from Pinterest, recipes, crafts, even outfit ideas. So I wanted to share my top 10 favorite Pinterest projects of the year. I’m pinning every day and am already looking forward to the Spring when I can start a new garden, break out the sunny clothes, and decorate the house. =) It was a very productive year thanks to Pinterest, that’s for sure. What about you? Did you just pin it and forget it or do you tend to actually do a lot of your pins? Please share!

So It Goes

13 Nov

“So it goes like it goes
Like the river flows
And time it rolls right on
And maybe what’s good gets a little bit better
And maybe what’s bad gets gone

These days are spent rearranging the house in preparation for the Christmas tree and decor, transitioning to a more inside routine, trying to patiently teach housekeeping habits along with whatever subject is currently of interest. I’m looking forward to the sights and sounds of the holiday season, it makes me smile in and out. I am busy on Pinterest, gathering ideas and crafts, recipes for parties and gifts. Check out my Winter Luvs board and my Christmas Gifts board if you want some inspiration. The girls are going to make the refrigerator into a snowman like this right now, I can’t wait to see what Moira will think about it!

Do your kids have alter egos? Amelia certainly does (some are not so nice!).

One of her characters is Marge, a sassy grandma-like chick who likes to party hard and bake apples. It cracks me up every time she puts on the wig and glasses! So funny!! Do your kids routinely have alternate personalities?
