10 Happy Things

Here are some things that really make me happy:

  1. Golden doodles: How can you NOT be happy looking at this dog? I am in love with their silly personalities and cheerful expressions!
  2. The Adventures of George Washington: Seriously, nothing is better than taking old photos, art, etc and sticking funny captions on them. This is one of my favorites-2c9546e597456cf2824b4653a2c37cff
  3. Hamilton: I am jamming out to this phenomenon of a musical 24/7 and even the girls are singing along… Moira’s favorite character is King George, especially when he gets all pouty that we won the war, lol! Here is their performance from the Tony Awards this year… it is AMAZING!
  4. This manicure: There’s just something about the blues and the constellation lines that make me so happy! (I couldn’t find this post but here is the blog from the nail artist) 49a84bc86d6128db41076f0e3ab627e2
  5. The “Pink Drink” from Starbucks: Who can be sad when sipping this pink lovely? Bonus points for being healthy too! IMG_6183
  6. LulaRoe Leggings: OMG, I can write a novel about why I love LulaRoe and how happy it makes me. Here are some pics of my favorite pairs, including the pair Moira and I wore for the 4th of July!
  7. Reading the newest book from Nora Roberts- Bay of Sighs: If you are looking for an easy read full of romance and danger, this is the one for you! The second in the series was just released and it is sooooo wonderful! You can buy your copy on Amazon or listen to it on Audible!

  8. Fake eyelashes: yes, that is right… fake eyelashes make me happy! It is silly and superficial, but I love how my eyes look with them on and I wear them out and about when I feel fancy! My favorites are these pretties from House of Lashes Tinkerbell collection… so very pixie!
  9. Kitties… kitties always make me happy. If all my days were filled with cats I would be a happy lady! This is our youngest guy, Pixel, who is about 9 months old! IMG_5331
  10. Braids: As a little girl I always had my hair in braids, a la Laura Ingalls Wilder. I loved how curly my hair felt after I took them out or how my grandma would put bows at the bottom of them. Now I get to braid my own daughter’s hair and it makes me very very happy! IMG_6211Hopefully I have inspired you all to thing about your own happiness and find some joy in the little things in life. Cheers!

This Just Pinned

Even if my blogging is sporadic at best, I am a pretty faithful Pinner. I am constantly on there looking at colors, crafts, nail designs, hairstyles, and more! Here are some fun things that I just pinned. =) Enjoy!

PinnedI am kind of obsessing about these purple and grey tones. They are on my nails right now and I smile every time I glance down. This palette is exactly the kind of shades I wanted. I am also entranced and obsessed with this Easy shop and specifically this tee shirt… I am pretty sure that I would never change out of it. Take a look around and you will be in love too!

I am thinking about getting another tattoo (I am slightly concerned that I will not stop getting tattoos) and this time I want something to celebrate my love of felines. I want something soft and subtle on the back of my neck, a watercolor tattoo. This is the closest thing I have found to what I am looking for and perfect for me since I love black cats.

We have been playing with polymer clay lately and I have just pinned a bunch of really fun charms to make like these pretty books. A little more sophisticated, this clever little clay house hides a small incense cone that lets smoke through the chimney. I can’t wait to make one!

Around my birthday I always contemplate a hair cut or change… I really like this simple chin length bob with bangs. (However, my hair gets pretty oily quickly and it ends up looking stringy and blah!) It’s still fun to look around.

I keep adding to my reading list…. I don’t think I can read enough. Check out my Book Board here!

Life In Five

IMG_0722Reading: The Smoke Jumper by Nicholas Evans. Ever since The Horse Whisperer I have wanted to read something else by Mr. Evans. So far this is a really good book! I love books about fire jumpers and his writing style is so easy to read, it’s the perfect before-bed book!

Craving: Cheesecake. I LOOOOOVE cheesecake and it just sounds so perfect right now. This recipe sounds amazing!

Learning: Some new tools to make Project Life more interesting as well as some new Photoshop techniques. I am loving this and this action from The Coffeeshop Blog.

Drinking: Lots and lots of juice. I have been pinning recipes like crazy and I am really enjoying the various combos that I have come up with. So far my favorite is green apples, lemon, ginger, green grapes, and pear. You can find more juice recipes on my Healthy Living Pinterest Board. What does your life in five look like in five?

Today

Today it was freezing out… again. So we ventured out to the Cleveland Rainforest to warm up and visit some of our favorite animals. It was a lot of fun and a welcome feeling, the warmth and humidity. The animals were playful and thankfully the zoo wasn’t too crowded. IMG_5794

After the zoo we ventured out for lunch and then a quick trip to the library, which turned out to be not so quick. I don’t know what it is about libraries, but they suck me in. I could spend hours at the library, curled up in the chair with a good book. I always try to limit how many books the girls take home, but really I am the one who needs a limit. I always get more than I can carry! The girls love exploring the different libraries and meeting new kids. IMG_3581

One of the coolest books that I found was one called Sneaky Art by Marthe Jocelyn. It is basically a junior covert art installation how-to. I love it!! All the projects in the book are simple, very do-able, and sneakily cute- everything the girls and I like!

And finally, the day ended with relaxation (especially since Moira is getting over a cold, and me getting some Project Life pages done since last night my photo printer came! (Insert SQUEALS of JOY!) Here are two of the pages that I have done- more photos to follow!
